RH Specialist Insurance

Having seen some positive comments about this company on here, I thought I'd give them a ring to check out what they could offer when my Classicline policy expires in a month or so. I need an agreed value policy. However, they require evidence of the value in documentary form from either a TVRCC official or a specialist TVR dealer. This presents several problems (for me anyway). Firstly, although I am a TVRCC member, the TVRCC does not give valuations because of the cost of PI cover. Secondly, TVR specialists are fairly thin on the ground. RH can only accept such valuations from companies who do not have a "financial interest" in the vehicle, i.e. any company who has (ever) worked on the car in my ownership, or even from whom I have ever bought parts for the aar. For me this would exclude a significant proportion of the available companies, particularly those as parts suppliers.

I'm interested in how those who are insured with RH deal with this. Is it necessary to make lengthy journeys to find a specialist that meets the criteria for example? What sort of amount does such a valuation cost?

Although I'm insured with RH, the value of my car isn't agreed.

I was insured with them last year and was going to get an agreed valuation at my local TVR man (Dan Taylor) which is fine as long as he's never worked on it, which he hasn't (I'm hands on )

I've never got round to it and to be honest the £50 or so it would have cost me for the valuation and lack of time on my part, it was just forgotten about......

I'll regret it if I crash though, I'm going to get it done this time round though............ famous last words!

RH were by far the cheapest for me (there is probably a reason )

David Gerald TVR charged me £10, which I thought very reasonable.
