Clutch problems - master cylinder?

Hi,
My clutch does not work properly. I had a problem with the slave cylinder leaking a while ago so replaced it and has been ok until a few weeks back.
The fluid level is ok but when you put your foot down nothing happens. I replaced the clutch fluid today as it looked dirty.
It works now but the bite is almost immediate.
Has anyone had a similar problem? I have no leaks so I wondered if the master cylinder could be faulty? If so what replacement do I look for? I notice TVRcarparts do one for £56.

Usually with hydraulics, the answer is that if the slave fails it always leaks, and if the master fails it may leak (because it has one internal and one external seal). So if you don't have a leak, look to the master cylinder.

Dirty clutch fluid usually means that a seal is getting chewed up so it would seem the problem may have been developing for some time. So I suggest you take the mater cylinder off, check the condition of the bore, and if it seems OK put some new seals in it.

I followed the advice in the thread below (which links to another useful thread) and contacted Paul at powertrack. Having changed the seals in my master I now have a low biting point but I consider this to be a result of some air in the system. I'll bleed it again when I get a chance.
