This is probably more a finance/economics issue but it would prob have been moved here anyway.
I eat a range of food brands, be it value ranges to top end stuff - it all depends on the individual product. One brand/product I usually buy is Heinz Baked Beans.
Just been down to Tesco and the current price for 1 tin is 64p. I remember just a few years ago when it was around 40p for a tin. Some searching on the next indicates they were 36p in 2003.
The next step down from Heinz Beans are Tesco own beans for 35p and Tesco Value beans for 28p.
Now as much as I like Heinz beans I don't think I can justify paying almost twice as much than the normal standard Tesco beans. Heinz tatse better IMO but only slightly.
What do you think of these rises and are there any foods you have given up due to crazy pricing?

Over the years I've noticed that Heinz seem to have lessened the beans to sauce ratio. I like the Branston brand too
There's a 'Which' bean taste test that you can read up on.

Dear Mojoo,
another vote for Branston but (oh the shame) Mrs Noise prefers Heinz weightwatchers.
My Branston vote is only made however because the original Crosse & Blackwell in their green tin days are no longer made. The recipe changed when they reappeared, less sugar and salt IIRC,

Jet
