Hollywood Photographers

Previously I've bought photo monographs by Yul Brinner and Sammy Davis Jr, and have really enjoyed them, Sammy Davis Jr in particular captured the Rat Pack parties well and generally the atmosphere of Hollywood in the 50s and 60s.

Today I got a copy of the behemoth book by Dennis Hopper, Photographs 1961 to 1967. This had previously only been available second hand for around £800.

It's absolutley fantastic look at the sub culture of the US in the 60s. Hopper hit the road a fair bit and hung out with some pretty random people. He was even on had to capture Martin Luther King Jr speaking in Washington. There is some back stage Hollywood stuff too and some of his personal projects such as his abstract work. The first half of the book is his photos and the second half is a biography with some great photos of him by other photographers. Well worth the asking price for some inspiration.







Anyone know of any other Hollywood stars who are also photographers?

Whilst not HollyWood - Leonard Nimoy (aka Spock) is a more than capable photographer.

whilst not hollywood again - the cursed bryan adams he of canada is highly regarded

not sure if its cause he's bryan adams or if its genuine talent.
