Oil recommendations

Hi all,

What oil would you recommend for the S1 2.8?

I'll be doing a full service this weekend and the info I can find (opie oils site) suggests 15w-40. Is this correct?

I've gone for semi synthetic 15w40 in mine

Mobil 1 - 15W 50 Fully Synthetic in mine

Mine's a 2.9 though

like jaye, always used Mobil 1 15w-50 motorsport in the old girl

In my S1 I use 10/40 semi synthetic and change it every year which is 3000 miles. These are engines designed in the 70s and 'modern' thin synthetic oils can cause them to rattle somewhat.

With HOF241 filter from Halfords, oil and filter £18 on trade.
