Why ethical? It's just another one who thinks they are of the left, who doesn't really understand what it is to be left.
I doubt he will have to "sign on".

What has left/right or an individual's future employability got to do with it?
<sigh>Being principled might have virtue if it would lead to paupery.
In this case I suggest that there will be many future prospects available.
Plus, it could be a case of "removing the heat".
With future prospects already lined up.
In short, PR.

Oh no, my old uni. To be honest it's always been a favourite with dictators' kids. I'm pretty sure one of Saddams offspring was there when i was a student. Heck, not all the alumni can turn out to be for the better of mankind, though perhaps they have been increasingly obsessed with funding in recent years, when their roots are meant to lie in left-leaning politics (just like New Labour).

Will the heads of arms companies that have sold weapons to the regieme or those in the financial services industry who have looked after the cash also resign?
So many people have done business with Libya I can't see how we can determine who should and who should not resign.
You cannot see the difference between an arms company and a university taking money from Libya? So many people have done business with Libya I can't see how we can determine who should and who should not resign.
