father in law looking at one, can anyone offer any views as to what to look for, any advice appreciated, they seem a real bargain

Engine is bullet proof.

Late models are better.

Look for rust and check all the electric gadgets work.

Avoid silly wheels and after market modifications: original 16" wheels offer the best ride.
