Gaz dampers distributors?

I’m looking to buy some new dampers for the back of my Wedge – not difficult you would think. Having pretty much decided on Gaz, I wanted to know which types were available for my car, prices etc. so I emailed Gaz direct. Their response was to refer me to one of their distributors, a company who I had heard of and has been mentioned on PH. Fine I thought, so I sent them an email with my requirements last Friday morning. When I’d heard nothing by Monday afternoon, I telephoned and spoke to someone who confirmed having received my email and was quite was helpful, discussing a couple of options etc. He said that he would send me the rest of the information, pricing etc. by return email straight away. Nothing received, so yesterday afternoon I telephoned – voicemail left. No response at all today.

So, giving up on them, can anyone recommend a Gaz distributor who actually might want some business?

I bought mine from Ex Works TVR service, where they were also fitted and set up by the boys there. Excellent. Speak to Heath on 07969 454703.

Sounds like you were absolutely shocked that the people you contacted did not get back to you with a price.

Derek is a very helpful and knowledgeable bloke. I recommend him to several folk and I've never had negative feedback. Ab Shocks is the place for TVR suspension. Derek is currently helping me with a replacement of my rears on the Chim.

DarkMatter and Das2000m: thanks for the Dampertech suggestion. I spoke to Dave, who was very helpful (and didn't seem surprised at my story). He even offered to measure the rate of my existing springs if I sent him one, so that I could compare to those that they supply.

As a complete aside, when looking at the A.S. website, they claim to be an independent company working with Gaz, yet a year ago on the Gaz sticky thread, Derek Gardiner said that he was working for Gaz full time.

Ab Shocks went independent a while back. I think you have been unlucky; your experience with Ab Shocks is not representative of other PHers. The balance of opinion definitely rates Derek and Ab Shocks very highly.
