I want to change from down tube friction gear levers to "STI" type.(Brake/gear lever)
The transmission is old school Campag super record which I dont want to change. I understand that there are micro ratchet "STI" type levers that might work, can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

The Shimano STI downtube levers have a non-indexing friction setting that increments like that. Sort of notchy version of what you have really smile

I presume that by STI you are referring to the brake lever / gear lever combination levers? If so, then it highly unlikely that you will be able to get them to work with your campag super record gears - they were designed for 5 speed gears and were well before the days of indexing!!

It's all about the amount of cable pull that the rear mech / shifters need. If this isn't right, then you will never get your gears to index properly.

Hope this helps!!
