Lincolnshire - inspire me.

I live north of Lincoln and are currently completely lack in photographic inspiration

I've been round the Bailgate a few times and whilst their are some nice details there I just found it all a bit 'average', same again for the Wolds, lovely scenery to drive through but when it comes to epic landscapes the fact it is relatively flat is managing to defeat me.

Even looking out the back window I can see a lovely view but it just doesn't seem to translate to a decent picture!

I may take a journey over to Tealby this afternoon and see what I can come up with.

I know!

The cathedral is stunning and the Bailgate can be a magical place, I was very disappointed the day I went there with the sole intention of taking pictures as nothing seemed to leap out at me.

Cadwell Park get some motorsports shots
Couple of hours drive to the Peak District
Clumber Park looks quite nice from google street view
Sherwood Forest

Louth church, Keadby or Wrawby windmills, Humber bridge half an hour away, Woodhall Spa isn't short of photo opportunities, and the National Trust and English Heritage both have places within an hour of you. Plenty of disused railway tracks - http://www.flickr.com/photos/lincolnian/503541249/ in Lincs, and lots of old open cast mineworkings, some with the old rail tracks still in them. What about Grimsby port and the fishing heritage museum (trip round a trawler), or the big barges that still go up the Trent to Keadby? And the flat landscape means there are loads of specimen trees broken and barren or bent over by the wind, and there are clear skies and late dawns in March - good light and a lie-in.

Half an hour on google should give you some inspiration.

I'm not a photographer at all, but quite often when its cloudy and dull over the Brayford and around the uni, if you look up at the cathedral it will be bathed in sunlight. Quite odd, but I must have seen that effect a dozen times in the last few months.

Oh, and don't take pictures of the bloody library, I will be spending my life in there for the next few months

What about a trip to the coast? I spent much of my youth at Mablethorpe and the beach and dunes can be amazing. There are the beach huts nearby at Sutton on Sea as well.

Sneaky photos of the OAPs on mobility scooters can be good/amusing.

I live in North Lincolnshire and, while flat, there's still things to photograph - it's all in the eyes. Try driving somewhere, anywhere - take a walk and see what inspires.

Had a little play around with some pictures I took a month or so ago, the MX-5 is just for fun, I wan't sure if I was meant to be there do didn't have a great deal of time to set the car up for a decent shot, hence the missing tops of the Cathedral!

The other two I'm quite pleased with, if a tad heavy on the PP side.
