in our quest to find the right paint colour to spec for our new tuscan, mrs mongoose and i are at loggerheads.we'd both like a light, bluish, pearl type finish.she likes chrystal topaz, and i like chelsadonnay(sp?)blue.is there some middle ground here?wherever we look we can only find the usual wedgewood/baby blues from the likes of rover, citroen, peugeot, fiat, vauxhall etc. which are to 'soft' and too much blue for me.anyone out there got any ideas/examples please that might fit the bill?cheers-mv

Or to give it it's proper name, "girly powder puff blue".

thanks for the response so far folks.the fezza and the cerb are way too dark im afraid.the maser is nice ,but much the same as all the other pale blues ive allready mentioned,if you see what i mean, and that colour is too similar to our old chim, its just not different enough, which is why i like chelsadonay blue.i just need to find something like chelsadonay but with a whisker more blue.then maybe mrs mongoose would be happy p.s.macdeb,i was sorry to see the griff go too.she was a beut and will be much missed, but its now or never for the tusc im afraid(before kids come along) so we sort of had to!havent any idea where i could see a pic of this alfa colour please?

IMO, Crystal Topaz looks much better on a Cerbera with the Prussian Blue interior, no offence to any Crystal Topaz Tuscan owners. The car below used to be mine and I loved the colour and wanted it on my new Tuscan, I went through may colour combinations using Adobe PhotoShop and not many single colours looked as nice as the flip colours IMO.

Viper GTS blue? (bit dark?)
BMW E36? M3 colour, err - Estoril Blue? (look on Edt's site under "brighton speed trials" at the Cerbera)
Cascade Blue?? (bit pricey/ pink?)
Numeric Blue? (see profile, the smart...)
Lamborghini Viola Pearl (its pink, but looks gorgeous on a Tuscan/ gets alot of female attention )

err yeah, not much help.

Could try Rage Extreme and get them to mix up some swanky custom paint job. For instance, their Bondi Beach Extreme Shock Waves (sounds like a hair product!?!?) blue:

Might be worth giving them a call & chatting to them (ignore all the max-power cars on their site - most of the fancy paints on TVRs are from this company:

Try Nuvola Blue - an Alfa colour like crystal topaz, but with a gold sheen. It doesn't reproduce well in photos - though have a look at my pictures at www.pbase.com/rjosborne/tvr
It combines a great, light blue, with the impressive appearance of gold, giving a typical "wow factor" from onlookers which everyone expects from TVRs

That's a lovely blue - the one they use on 156s, 147s, and GTVs quite often. However, I thought Crystal Topaz was originally a Fiat colour, which'd make it an Alfa colour, which might make it that actual one???
