Trying to save on GT5 is murder for me, I really need a top spec race car to progress but I just cant stop spending and over modifying my favourite/exotic cars. I love racing the exotic stuff and tbh the race cars are not of much interest to me, other than to progress.

My first port of call was creating a Nissan GTR that was quicker around Monza & the High Speed ring than a fully tuned 1200bhp Veyron, after lots of tweaking and mods, I did it (easily) and realised id earned a few bob in doing so. I had also unlocked another level.

I then thought about setting up more competitions with my exotic stuff. I entered the European extreme event in my standard Murci SV and noted the time (82k for the win), I then select my maxed LP560 and obliterated the SV's time, this had now set a nice bar to hit, I then followed this up by doing the same race in a modified 458, SLS & MP4. (For the record, the 458 was 4s/race quicker than the 560 & SLS that posted identical times and the MP4, well that needs work so was way off the pace)

It then struck me, Id been having a ball driving the cars I love in the game whilst also making good money, it didnt matter that I was smashing the poor V6 clios in the race, I was up against some tough opposition mentally - my self in another supercar! I had amassed 410,000cr for doing this in Rome alone – not bad considering it had taken approx 30 minutes and I had thoroughly enjoyed doing it, I then proceeded to the Deep forest raceway to do the same smile

Initially I had started playing about to raise funds, now I find it brilliant fun tweaking the cars and setting them head to head against one another. I find my self pushing super hard, knowing what times I have to hit at certain points of the races and then knowing "I must post a 1.12 first lap, and then a consistent 1.08 for the next four" for example.

Anyone else try this or have any other interesting mind games to make amassing credits as fun as possible? I must add that 410k for 30 mins may seem small to some people, but I’ve only just got on to level 23 and my slow progress & lack of funds drove me away from the game for about 6 weeks until last night, I was level 21 and getting 37k in the turbo challenge for ages using the Veyron – very boring.

You need to get some B-Spec staff, let them earn funds so you can enjoy the fun without having to grind yourself.

I know this works but I don't get it. Where's the fun in buying a driving game and letting IT do the driving for you?

I've got 2m credits and need 20m to buy a car to do the Classic Sportscar Trophy. As it won't let me sell my Veyron and Enzo for cash (ranting), any tips how I can bridge this chasm quickly?

You let it drive when you are having a shower, sleeping, at work etc and then when you come to play it yourself you have more cash to spend and prize cars to drive - B-Spec is too dull to be a proper game IMO but it's very handy for raising money.

Seasonal events used to be great for cash and XP but that stopped with the last update.

I was lucky enough to swap a fully modified Murci SV with CiviPilot for a Ferrari P4, Therefore I had a P4 for approx 900k cr. I would be tamping if I had to save the 20m credits, especially as the Chapparel 2J murders the P4 if it gets out in front, especially at Monaco!

I just need fun ways to "earn" not acquire money, as agreed, I dont believe in watching a pixelated character going round a track, im level 10 and its bored me silly already.

I thought I was the only one? I thought the idea was to make some home made contraption consisting of elastic bands, duck tape, pieces of your ikea furniture and then rig it up to your unattended PS3 for days on end desperately trying to get to level 40 to claim ultimate forum bragging rights.

Double wink

haha. I never tried that. I just did the running back to the room with the PS2 in it every now and again while B-Spec did the 24hrs for me. Not really bothered with B-Spec this time.

I ahve to agree it great fun racing yourself. I have only just started the game mind you! so dont laugh when you hear about me trying a take a couple of seconds a lap of my time in my little Honda BEAT (mid engined 3 cylinder). Its great fun and really makes you focus on your race craft! Also its great for lurning the track for when you get some big money. smile
