Hi all, I have a Sony MEX BT3700U head unit. I've just bought a 2001 renault clio (I'm so sensible!) It has the stalk controls and the stereo displays text on the in-car screen for the factory tape deck.
I was wondering if there was a way I could install my head unit and still make use of the in-car equipment.
Or if not does anyone has a suggestion of a cheap bluetooth/usb stereo that can use the stalk and screen?

You will most probably need to the OEM Renault Head Unit to use the car screen and steering wheel controls. This is the problem with fitting after-market stereos to modern cars, they just don't integrate properly with the electronics.

There are leads that you can connect so you can still use the steering wheel controls. Ive bought one but still havent got round to doing it. And to my knowledge with a aftermarket headunit in a clio you cant use the display unfortunatly. Mine just constantly reads the outside temp and time.

You can get an adapter that allows you to use the fingertip controls and also one that displays information on the screen.

These guys do it

You can buy an adapter for the stalk controls - but you'll loose the dashboard display.
