I know this isn't computers and stuff but it's the closest forum I found.

I'm not getting any sound from Sky at the moment, is it Sky's Problem, or mine? Any Help?

Your's I'd say. I've just finished watching the MotoGP on Eurosport and it's been fine.

Check the leads, then check the Services section on the Sky box menu, I'm sure there's a volume control on their, it may have been muted. If it's been plugged into the telephone socket overnight and had a update it might have reste a few things.....you never know.

Make sure the SCART lead is in properly. I lose sound on my Sky when one of the bly cats has been fng around behind the telly.

Worth a look.

Also check the volume on the Sky box (off the setup menu)

Hope that helps.

Does anyone know why a sky digibox would refuse to switch on?

It's been unplugged from the telephone for two years, so no chance of it being interfered with that way and the sky card is ok - tested on another box.

I've tried unplugging everything - then plugging it all back in, but all I get is the red light. Fuses are all ok.

I've now cancelled my sky subscription and will just buy a freeview box instead, but if I can get it working again, it'll be handy for the portable TV.

We have that sometimes. Try a hard reset of the box:
www.angelfire.com/tv2/skydigitalfaq/index.html#28

First, simply unplug your box from the mains and then plug it back in again. This triggers any new software that your box may have downloaded. If that fails: Remove your card. Switch the box off at the mains. Press and hold the backup button down on the front of the box (not the remote), then switch the mains back on without releasing the backup button. Wait for about 20 seconds, until you see a message appear on your television (which only appears on a SCART lead) and all the lights come on on the front of the digibox. Then release the button. Follow the instructions ie don't do anything for the next ten minutes after which time the box will restart. Forcing a software upgrade is not normally required since Sky upgrade all box software automatically. Furthermore both new and old software may be transmitted simultaneously so, if your box hasn't been told to upgrade, you may still receive the old software. Experience shows that many boxes download upgraded software but do not activate it until you switch the box off and on at the mains. When Sky wish to upgrade your box they simply send it a signal to switch off.

Which is very annoying when you have programmed a channel and the video to record something at 5.00am....
