Which Diesel has strongest residual at 12 months / 50k

I'm looking at options regarding my fleet, and as part of my calculations need to identify the best cars for residuals in these categories. I'm having a mad thought that flipping the fleet every year may make more economical sense than constantly repairing ageing cars.

Saloon / Estate - Sub £20k purchase price new.

7 Seat MPV - Sub £25k purchase price new.

9 Seat MPV - Sub £30k purchase price new.

I'm purely looking at residual values and what might affect the value (adversely or otherwise) on an ex-fleet car at 50k miles. Tips on spec to choose etc would be helpful - I can't imagine people flocking to a 50k mile, 12 month old Chevrolet, whereas they might for a top of the range mondeo or the like.

What are the residuals like on the Clubman Estate? Historically Mini residuals are quite high.

Not sure it would make a great taxi though.

In terms of holding onto the highest % of purchase price, then Skoda is the way to go surely? Premium brand buyers of 1 year old cars will want something a little less leggy.

Skoda sounds as good an idea as any - a lot of taxi fleets seem to be running Octavias and Superbs nowadays.

Could the OP get away with buying 3 yo cars with, say 30K, on the clock? OK so you have to pay for an annual MOT and srvicing might cost a wee bit more but would that be offset by the savings made by not taking such a big hit on depreciation>

There's no point... We get such a big discount on new cars it negates buying older vehicles. Plus our circuit is BUSY and I can't afford to have a car down very often. New cars with value after 12 months please guys

I was thinking of something like a Mondeo Titanium X spec... all the bells and whistles - would be very comfy and look great... Possibly cheaper end of the Mercedes range, but then who wants a slightly leggy C Class with a boggo spec?
