2000 W202 Single Wiper Probs
Discussion
Sold my old C180 to a friend when i got my new car. In spite of years of faithful service as soon as she got it the front wiper has started to misbehave. It has gradualy lost power on intermittent, fast and today even the single speed. She replaced the relevant fuse and for a short period she had power and then after a while off it went again. It's a mint Elegance Selection with a genuine 78,000 miles and build quality that puts my new 2011 model Passat to shame. Her capable husband thinks there may be a relay problem or the motor is on the way out. Any ideas? and Thanks
These were allways prone to the mechanism siezing.
This would explain why its slowing down as you describe, try removing the plastic cover over the mechanism at the base of the wiper arm and lubricating it with WD40. This should improve it or fix it, however if it has been like this for a long period it may have strained/burned out the motor.
