Taken from todays metro paper.
"A garage has come up with a hi-tech solution to the problem of rogue car mechanics. A&R Premier Car Care in Aberdeen has installed a webcam in its workshop, allowing customers to watch their car being serviced and repaired 'live' on the internet. The garage is believed to be the first in Scotland to offer the service."
A good idea? Yes/No? Could you actually be arsed watching someone for the whole time?
With the quality of most webcams it will be difficult to see what the mechanic is actually doing in the engine bay. However it does prove that the grease monkey isn't knocking lumps out of it with a hammer at least.

I think it's a splendid idea.. okay you can't see whether they're doing exactly as you'd expect if you're an oily-hands type person yourself, but at least they can't say on the phone "it's just come off the ramp now and we'll have it back to you in an hour" when you know damn well they haven't started it yet..
I think its a superb idea.
I was having my car serviced last week and was waiting on the premisies for it. It occurred to me that the waiting room should be near the garages - like the resturaunts that have open kitches so you can see they are not picking food up from the floor,spitting in it etc.
