Does Anyone Sell Their Photos?

I know its just a hobby but it would be nice if I could make a few quid from it too so Ive uploaded some pics to Redbubble, some have been on there for a while now but not sold anything yet.
So does anyone on here sell their pics?
Is there any better sites than Redbubble to try?

As mentioned elsewhere on this part of PH I did my own exhibition last year and sold 22 photos plus more afterwards. Uploading to a site is somewhat anonymous as thousands of others are doing the same. I have my own websites to sell from and although it is slow to start there is promise of things to come. The big problem is trying to hold down a full time job and yet make some money out of a hobby. As you know the only way to make any money is to put in serious hours and work hard which doesn't alway s suit when working full time. There is no hard and fast answer but I would say that a) the photos have to be up to scratch in the first place, b) get known for taking a certain subject or style, c)direct selling rather than letting the good ol web do the work can be better, d) there must be sufficient work/hobby balance to be able to do both well enough and e) don't do it half heartedly, it will show in your work. Don't know if this helps but if someone said to me don't give up your day job I would say fair enough, I am not a professional photographer I just like to share my hobby! Mark

Quite a few on here make a living from their photos.

I couldn't survive on what I earn from said sales, but what I earn helps.

I'm selling prints at the moment, not many clients so far but its earning a bit.

Havnt actualy tried to get into gallerys etc yet either. Redbubble is a bit of a chuckle realy, havnt sold anything on there.

I'm thinking of setting up a website to sell photos of the local area (famous sites around the county, towns, countryside etc), but I've got a few questions for anyone who is selling theirs...

- Do you sell prints or image rights?
- Do you have have a facility to purchase through the website or do you use another method for payments/agreements?
- Do you get much business through your site?

At this moment this is an attempt at trying to turn a hobby into something that could bring in a bit of extra cash. In the long term I would love to turn it into more than a hobby, but I feel that this would be a good way of testing the waters. I'd be really interested to hear how other people started selling their photos and how it worked out for them.
