changing the steering rack whats the easiest way?

The only way is to drop the rear of the sub-frame down a few inches, undo the steering clamp and pull the steering shaft clear, then ondo and withdrae the 'U'-bolts holding in the rack. Of course, you must undo the track rod ends from the steering arms.
To lower the back of the sub-frame you will need to undo the top exhaust joints and lower the exhaust pipe out of the way, undo the engine top steady bar, undo the sub frame floor mounts, undo the top mounts and slacken off the sub-frame front mounts (possibly it can drop if you have the rubberised front 'teardrop' mounts without slackening, I've never tried because I always have solid mounts all round.
Ideally you need two trolley jacks and a pair of good axle stands.
Withdraw the rack from the right hand side of the car.
