Roundabout positioning
Discussion
Evening,
This afternoon I approached a roundabout in the 'straight on' lane, the lane to the right was marked right turn. The exit I wanted was about the 1 O'clock position. On this roundabout there are exits at the 9, 12, 1 and 2 positions then the 6 position back down the opposite side of the road.
As I exited at the 1 O'clock position its two lanes. I was about 100m along the road when a knob in a silver astra chavmobile comes screaming past at about 60 in a 40 cuts in front and flicks the 'V's. I can only assume because he took offence that I hadn't sat behind him in the right hand turn lane approaching the roundabout.
So should I have used the right hand turn lane?

Yes. You were not going left or straight on, but one exit further round. This afternoon I approached a roundabout in the 'straight on' lane, the lane to the right was marked right turn. I have a similar roundabout near me as you describe, i always use the left lane to exit straight on, as does 70% of drivers. They other 30% just tend to use the right lane approach, using the inside of the roundabout before exiting straight on. Causes alot of accidents, near misses and road rage incidents!
Edit- Just seen the above post and the exit is directly 12.00 o'clock in direction.

I was approaching from the Doncaster Road eastbound to exit on the A18 Kingsway. I was in the left hand lane.

Looks that way but it wasn't strictly a righthand turn and there are two exit lanes. Didn't cause anyone any problem other than Mr Astra.
So he was in a hurry to get to S

Seriously, we've all made mistakes when faced with a quick decision on choice of lane in an unfamiliar area. Who's the better driver, the selfrighteous one who knows he's in the right or the one who accepts we're all human, sometimes make mistakes & therefore plan & anticipate accordingly. Forget it mate (or put up with lots of posts from clever people telling you, you were wrong).

I can accept it was the wrong choice of lane now - no malice inteded and didn't cause any impact to anyone. Mr Astra regained his position in front of me anyway so I am sure he felt better for it.

Karma got me on the way back - overturned lorry on the M18 / M180 services roundabout meant it was 2 hours going 40 miles.
