Sad and wonderful in equal measures.

The parents of the last person to die in the Falklands conflict have bought one of the islands and named it after him.

What's really sad is that they were celebrating the end of the war when they realised their son had been killed.

A lovely way to remember his sacrifice.

That really gets me when I hear how young these soldiers were when they died. Not on this earth long enough, it seems such a waste to me.
An everlasting memorial, his story will become folklore in centuries to come.

One of my sons is called Craig. He is now 23. I would be destroyed if he died. Sorry, maudlin with a bottle of red.

Argentina has never had sovereignty over the Falklands. The country didn't exist until years after they were claimed by Britain. The population regard themselves as British, not Argentinian.

That is why there was a war in the first place.

Agree about it being a great memorial, though.
