I'd be interested in views on the ownership of these TT cars. Looking at stock 1/4mile figures they seem to be exeptional value compared to supras, skylines. c £4k

I suspect I'm missing something, please emlighten me.

Slightly dull to drive for what it is, very capable but not a lot of driver involvement required.

The others are at least RWD which keeps the entertainment value up.

There biggest downside is weight, they weigh 1715kg's, thats a lot of energy to get it shifting and to get it to stop, so they eat petrol/tyres/brakes.

Im not sure there are any real differences between the UK model and the GTO import, though I believe the American model is different, the 'Stealth'.

The gto is a pretty lousy drive to be honest, they are rather sluggish and because of thier weight arn't that fast, they also tend to be driven by drug dealers. And those are the good points, my advice: steer well clear,

one more thing, servicing / repairs cost = horendous!

Oggs has a 4 litre chim, which ain't slow either.


Its just an opinion. I'm sure he's very happy with his car, but IMO its a flawed one. The only comparative to it in terms of age is an 89 or 90 300zx, i know which i'd rather have.

in terms of speed ,standard were taling a 5.9secs to 60 and 15 seconds to 100 which is lousy, or coarse you caaan breath on them

I test drove one before I bought the Four.....

...it just didn't do it for me.

I was going off these figures below, which made it very quick in my book. However I'm wanting something which IS a drivers car and cheap. The very best Mk1 Mr2 might be an option for £3.5k or a stretch to a mark II turbo.

Thought about 200sx but don't like the old shape ones for some reason.

Mike, your profile does'nt say where you live. If you're anywhere near Heathrow I'll take you out for a blast, that way you can make up your own mind.

At the run a few weeks ago I was way faster than all the TVR's. It's cheap to buy but can you afford to put £100 a week in the tank?(2 tanks at £50 a time!)
