How do I get into the Bios?

I've got an Advent PC and i've just added a new hard disk I can't seem to get into the bios to add the hardware.

I'm running XP Pro, F10 & F12 don't do anything!

Seems odd to me or am I missing something really easy?

Delete or F2 have also been used by motherboard manufacturers to trigger entering the bios at boot up.
