whats the flashest diesel car i can get for £5000?
Discussion
I do only 3000 miles a year and fuel costs are covered by work so mpg is not an issue. I get a much better rate for diesel which is the reason for the preference. Insurance costs don't matter as i am 29 with loads of ncb and it will be garaged in a rural area.
Looking for something which will be reliable and not cost the earth to repair all the time but be flash as i've never really had anything very fancy.
No requirement apart from being able to get me from one place to another. Not scared of owning something with a few years and miles on it.

Might be worth properly doing the calculations; on 3,000 miles a year, the premium you pay for a diesel, plus the higher price (around 6/7ppl more than petrol around here) may take a very long time to pay off, even with your work rate.
Edit; Depending on your definition of flash, perhaps an E46 330? But my money would go on an E36 M3, to most people if it's well looked after it'll still look 'flash'

If you've set your heart on a diesel you will not get anything fancier for your five grand than one of these.

I know about the whole 'miles till diesel engined car becomes financially viable' argument and that modern diesel engines are expensive to repair but basically i get next to diddly squat for a petrol allowance and a decent contribution for diesel. Why? I honestly don't know but diesel is preferential.
Cheers!
