Well once again the Swiss show that you don’t need some party political prat to ‘represent you’. In a adult nation you get to make your own decision.

“Swiss voters have rejected proposed tighter controls on gun ownership, final results show.
Twenty of the 26 cantons and 56.3% of voters rejected the plan, meaning the current system allowing army-issue weapons to be kept at home will remain.

Supporters of the tighter curbs wanted to have weapons kept in armouries and were demanding stricter checks on gun owners.

Opponents said the move would have undermined trust in the army.
For the proposal to succeed, it required the support of the majority of both citizens and cantons.”

For that to happen here there would nee to be a revolution. There is a thread about Bet and another one aboot the 'goings on in Egypt. I think the public of the UK are too lethargic to want anything as active as real democracy. As the Patrician says, 'what people really want, what they really really want is stability'.

I growing to like the Belgium system.

For the past 270 days they have been trying to sort out a colalitIon government.

Which means they have been to busy to do other stuff and I really can't think of anything the government have got involved with that has improved with their intervention.
