Three and a half weeks to have a windscreen replaced
Discussion
I'm now into my fourth week of waiting to have my chipped windscreen replaced. It got damaged on the 24th Jan while I was driving to work, phoned my insurance companies preferred windscreen repairers and they sent a guy out that Friday to look at it.
Since then I've had three appointments for the work to be carried out cancelled, two of which they didn't inform me of, and as a result of them taking so long the MOT on my car has expired and I've had to hire a car for the last two weeks to get up to work. F
king useless!

What kind of car is it?
Maybe there is a shortage of windscreens?
Also, if its a normal car, you can usually get a new windscreen fitted by an independent fitter for less that a lot of excesses?
I've just had a top tint screen fitted on my M3 for £90 with no input from my insurance company and various other people all takign a cut.
