Good morning chaps and indeed chapesses,
I am thinking of whilttling down my retro mountain bike collection down to one but I am a bit stumped as to whether to get rid of my GT STS. It was a bike I hankered after for years and years but couldn't afford one when they were new and having now had it for a while and not wanting to damage it I am thinking of just buying something new to replace it.
It's the same as the one in the picture below but without the Spin wheels, drivetrain is XT iirc and rides superbly. In fact typing this I may not want to get rid but anybody have any ideas on what it would be worth??

Are you a member of retrobikes? Lovely looking bike by the way, still looks amazing even today.
I'm not a member no, maybe I should sign up.....I have an Orange P7 of similar vintage too and thinking maybe get rid of these two and put a some money on top and buy a new bike that I don't mind getting muddy

I just don't want to regret getting rid of them.......

I think you should find some spin wheels for it and hang it on the wall and keep it forever, it'll only appreciate in price and it would take you years to build another one.
Keep it
Damn. That was my thinking too.Keep it

Any idea on what it is worth though? That would maybe sway my decision.....?!

I'd say it's worth about £450-500 as it stands, but I'd imagine it's worth a lot more to you!
The more I think about it the more I think I'll keep it! I have my Orange P7 on display at home and it looks stunning so maybe I should dig the STS out from storage and do the same.....
