Now then

How much matte black paint would I need to paint the Volvo Wagon?

Only one or two millimetres. Otherwise the doors won't open.

Don't know about hand paint but I do know that this will adequately cover a BMW E30...

I used just over a tin of fence paint to do my old Batmobile Golf. Maybe two for a Volvo?

Not the tiny ones, but also not the massive ones. It's been four years so I can't remember to be honest.

Stupid question, but do you have any pics of the finished product?

What's the matter? Don't you know what matt black paint looks like?

I would think that a 2.5ltr tin would be plenty for 2 coats.

Yeah I'd agree with that, you could also thin the first coat down a bit to help it go a bit further.
