His CoC should have helped him with his mental problems.

He pulled a knife on someone and was binned correctly.

Who are the Telegraph to say if the Corporal is overzealous - he was getting his job done.

A wishy washy article to be honest.

ETA: The fact that he was in the same patrol is irrelevant, it is mentioned to help bolster the 'oh my, how dare they treat him this way... VICTIM' slant of the article.

True, but he was mentally unstable by that point. We have no idea what he was thinking when he did it, and as such, he lost his job.

But why should we deport him over that? He did more for us than we ever can for him, and yet we still won't do what little we can.

If he had no previous military experience would you still say that.

The thing that needs looking at is why his Pl Comd / rest of CoC didn't see the issues and help him. However you can only do so much, horse to water etc.

He probably should be deported, but it is wrong that he is being kicked out for a crime less serious than that of people who have been allowed to stay. Either they should stay or all be deported, imo.

No, but that's the point of the article really.

Just because he has done a few tours doesn't make him exempt from law and order. If anything being in the military means he has to obey more laws.

Agree that others are staying for more serious crimes, more to story perhaps?

Tone of the article got on my tits a bit tbh.

i'm sorry but people who have committed far worse have not been deported, we need some sort of standard.

I do think it's one sided story aimed at getting a response from those in power, but i also think that the poor guy should be allowed to stay as we let worse people stay already. If imigration was more tightly controlled, then i may well have a different opinion, but as it is, i think it fair that he stays.

100% agree that there needs to be a common standard.
