Anyone using this browser? Im trying it out at the moment and seems very good, the pages load faster then internet explorer and you get add-ons like popup blockers ect. I wonder if its safer then the bug ridden IE?

Yeah, mozilla rocks... but then I'm a Linux-head so I would say that

Definitely more secure than IE, though.

Even the UK's immigration controls are more secure than anything from MS!

I'm using Firefox. Still have Explorer set as default for things that need Flash (evil Flash) though.

FWD, you could as well download the Flash-plugin Firefox then

I migrated to Firefox too, and I'm impressed by it; it's a well written and designed piece of software

From the Firefox FAQ:

Is Firefox more secure than Internet Explorer?

Yes, Firefox and all other Mozilla-based products are more secure. Why? Here is a list of the most important reasons:

* It is not integrated with Windows, which helps prevent viruses and hackers from causing damage if they somehow manage to compromise Firefox.
* There is no support for VBScript and ActiveX, two technologies which are the reasons for many IE security holes.
* No spyware/adware software can automatically install in Firefox just by visiting a web site.
* Firefox doesn't use Microsoft's Java VM, which has a history of more flaws than other Java VMs.
* You have complete control over cookies.

>> Edited to add: Firefox is very similar to Mozilla, but it comes without the email-client and the html-page composer. Hence, it's lighter and faster.

Yep, Happy with Firefox and Thunderbird.
I have found one or two pages that have not been rendered properly. Then I switch over to Crazy Browser.
I've thrown in the Calender and Web Developer. (Aha, I see there is a new version of that).

Mozilla is very good for general browsing - quick and the pop-up blocker is soooo useful. Tabbed browser windows are excellent too - especially for getting Glasto tickets

The other thing is does very well is print out web pages as they appear on the screen, in portrait format on A4. I cannot believe that M$ still haven't got this sorted

However, it does have some problems when altering web based configurations of some things: bbc radio broadcast volumes and router configuration screens (see networking thread....) when the radio buttons and parameter selections don't work.

So I use both!

I've been using Mozilla for a couple of years now and I use it exclusively. There are a few sites that don't work properly (technically their fault, not Mozilla's), but this is only a very small percentage and it is dropping all the time. Windows Update only works in IE though, and the Oracle 10g web admin stuff lacks some functionality in Mozilla. The killer features are tabbed browsing and the popup blocker.

I'm using Mozilla Firebird and can't fault it.... except sometimes it fails to recognise hyperlinks at the moment... a quick refresh sorts it and its sooo rare it doesn't bother me.

Highly recommended

I use Firebird everywhere now. It's so nice to use the same browser no matter which platform I'm using, and the popup blocker alone makes it worthwhile. IE seems so clunky by comparison.

(Edited to say it's called "Firefox" now, not "Firebird")

Pop-ups weren't really an issue for me on IE as I had the google toolbar installed.

It is very good - typically use firefox for browsing though, I don't need all the extra stuff that moz has.

Mac users - try the 1.7 betas, it's now very very quick at page rendering and brings the speed up to the same sort of snappiness as windows web browsers.
