The thieving government are stealing our MOTs! wink

I never noticed this before but just got one done and the expiry date is one day before. (ie MOT passed 8th February, next MOT due 7th February.)

There's nothing to stop you from MOT'ing it on the 8th though. If the expiry date was the same as the test date then you could steal a day from them every year instead wink

Erm, yes. Otherwise you get a year and a day if it's the 8th to the 8th.

It's actually 365 days. wink

The test and expiry time is on it too, so it is 24 hours short of a year.

IIRC, they aren't stealing a day, they're just forcing you to re-MoT the car a day before it expires. Next year's MoT will run from the 8th to the 7th in your example as well, it just that the actual test needs to be done by the 7th.

February 8th 2011 to February 8th 2012 would be 366 days.

So it's exactly 365 days.

Day one is February 8th 2011.
Day 365 is February 7th 2012.

Too slow to edit wink

ETA I see what you were adding now. 12pm on the 8th to 12pm on the 7th is 364 days.

New certificate runs from today until the anniversary of the expiry of the old one.

I have two valid MOT certificates for ONE car at the moment - and one of them runs for 371 days!
