Wheel bearing issue?
Discussion
Hi all
I've recently noticed a droning sound coming from the front of my car when driving at anything above about 20mph. I've checked the exhaust and made sure it's not blowing and that all seemed fine. I now think its one of the wheel bearings, possibly on the front nearside wheel.
Are these difficult to replace (the car is a 98 Renault Megane) for someone with moderate mechanical competence? Also, the problem started after I hit a large pothole (which also dented the front nearside alloy). Is it possible that an impact would cause issues with wheel bearings? If so I'll get a quote and add it to the Council claim.
Cheers
