Im going to be selling my beloved corsa to free up cash and buy a city car as I will be doing mainly short journeys now, and allow me to put a deposit on a flat
I need something on a 57 plate onwards because im a private plate snob lol.

Can get an 2008/58 aygo for £5500 so they are at the top of my list and will have a bit of warranty left on them I beleive they have a 5yr warranty? , anyone think of something else the cheaper the better tbh

You should pick up a C1 on a 3 + 23 lease deal for around 120 per month if you like that sort of thing. Means you get your plate and a warranty and little hassle.

I went looking for a C1, Aygo or 107 at around 3 years old but in the end bought new.
I got an Aygo Black, replaced by Toyota with the Aygo Go! with nav etc. for around the same price, and it worked out around £30 a month more than buying a 3 year old one.
New one came with 5 year warranty and 5 years worth of free servicing plus the fact it was brand new, so it was a no brainer.

I might be wrong on this but didnt the 5 year warranty appear quite recently (as a "please keep buying Toyotas" tactic after the poor PR of the brake recalls) so not sure this would apply to an 08 car. I might be wrong though.

I do really rather like the aygos as well, not driven one myself yet but they just "appeal" somehow. Oddly the c1 and 107 dont really do it for me!

With the used market on the Aygo et al, you're better off buying a brand new one. Can they not be bought for not much more than £5000 brand new anyway?

I think it will have a 3 year warranty, bought a 58 Plate Yaris last year, that only had a three year one on it sadly. No problems at all so far though so happy days!

Wouldn't spend that much on them, at the end of 2010 Citroen were doing new C1 1.0 VTs for £5500, I know because I nearly bought one! It is of course fundamentally the same car as the Aygo, so spending £5500 on a 3-year old used example sounds a bit expensive to me.

Correct, IIRC the 5-year warranty only came about last year.

Peugeot are doing Urban Lites for £5995 new at the moment, they're very good value for money. Surprisingly good to drive, too.

Yeah they are nice little things to drive, much better than you would expect.
