4.3 / 4.5 upgraded cars - What effect on insurance premium?

I don't want my insurance company raising a red flag to me yet, and so I thought I'd ask on here first. For those who have had the Speed 6 engine upgrades... How did your insurers take it and what kind of hike in premium can I expect? Many thanks.

My policy with MSM quotes quite a broad range for engine CC for 'kit cars' on the policy I have. Don't know if the actual CC would impact on the premium but the range quoted covers from 3.6 to well in excess of 4.5 litres?

Policies have rocketed this year, my normal car has gone up nearly 50% and there have been no changes whatsoever (it is still the cheapest I can find though!). Posts in other places suggest 20-39% extra is normal

Practically none - mine went up by £17 last year with the 4.3 compared to the 3.6.

£22.30 extra going from 3.6 to 4.5 with agreed valuation.

I had a similar conversation with Mannings recently about a few engine mods I had done (induction kit, plenum and ignition mods) and the increase was merely nominal. The guy did say that they tend to base the mods on power increase, but the only issue they were struggling with was supercharging - which they hope to resolve in the next 12 months as it becomes a more popular mod.

Mine frome 3.6 to 4.0 was 10%

Mine was 3.6 to 4.0.

Moved from Haggerty to Classic line and premiums dropped.

I declared 4.0 to Classic line and there as no difference between a 3.6 and the 4.0ltr.

Included in the premium, only for certain trackdays though, like TVRCC ones and some others
