My insurance renewal notice for both my cars arrived today They are insured separately but on the same policy if that makes sense). Close on a grand for the two.eekeekeekeekeekeek
I was expecting six or seven hundred.

Phoned the insurance company and they confirmed that was the correct price.

So I did a quick check on a certain company's site (the one who has been advertising a multi car insurance on TV lately with a nautical theme)
The quote came out at around five or six hundred depending on excess levels and NCD protection etc.

So what's the catch? Or is this just a very good deal for a two car PH like me.

We use said nautically themed insurer - for the wifes Alfa, my Defender toy and the one of the children's cars. Overall, on the two grown ups cars it worked out about the same, however it saved the son about 30 or 40% on his best stand alone (£1500) quote. NCB's are all independently held so hopefully no issue for the responsible members of the household.

There have been some bad experiences posted reference dealing with claims but we have no experience on which to make a judgement.

Just been looking on a Land Rover forum and it seems that NFU Mutual (my current insurers) are making large increases on their car policies this year. Way above the increases other companies are charging. One school of thought is that they are looking at dropping car insurance all together.

So if anyone is insured with them expect a nasty shock come renewal time this year.

I use them and it is saving me hundreds on the price of 3 separate quotes!
