Need a New Photo Printer

My Epson R800 after years of hard work has died. I've generally been pleased with it apart from the cost of ink cartidges; are they the most expensive on the market?
Now with what do I replace it, A3 or A4, must give at least the equivalent quality pictures, what do you guys use and recommend?

Ditch the photo printer and use Photobox. Save yourself a packet in ink.

I have an Epsom photo 2100. These days, if I need a photo printed, I avoid it, as it costs too much.

Canon Pixma range are awesome

I have a Canon Pixma and although brilliant quality it goes through ink like no bodies business and it is bloody expensive.

For that reason I now do not print any pics at home.

I've just replaced an Epson 2100 with a Canon Pixma 4850 which was cheap and seems to do the job. The Epson pigment inks were very expensive, and getting more so as it ages. In fact, I rarely make photo prints at home these days, as the online people are better, cheaper, and only take a day or two to arrive, but for a little office printing and occasional emergency photo prints I needed something and the Canon was well written up. Happy with it so far.
