Xbox 360 Data

I've got one of the original 360s' and it's suffered the RROD. I'm looking at getting one of the new ones and I was wondering if it's possible to transfer my old data across somehow?

You could use a transfer cable that would transfer everything across, this costs about £15. And can be done without the original xbox. Or you could use an ordinary USB stick to transfer your game saves (formatted for use with xbox, you can do this from the dash). You can redownload content bought for free, and reinstall the games. This method needs a working xbox though. Maybe use a friends console?
