Vinyl Wrapping

Would it be possible to vinyl wrap my daughter's Mini Micro Scooter? Other children confuse it for their own in the playground so was thinking how to personalise it. I've tried vinyl stickers as I have a small vinyl cutter at work but this keeps peeling off the plastic the scooter was made from. I wouldn't want the whole scooter wrapped as I feel where she stands on would be worn off quickly. So maybe just the front portion in a design she would like. Would it work?
