I need to set up an online credit card facility.
Have looked at Paypal and Worldpay.
Has anyone got any experience of either, or maybe can suggest a better alternative?

Thanks guys

Have been using Paypal for a while now, both sending and receiving money, with no problems whatsoever. Not sure if its the cheapest but very handy for ebay.

Ideally I'd like one supported by a bank, but have been quoted an extortionate price today!

Worldpay is reliable and well respected. Few people will have a problem with using it.

Paypal however is still not respected/trusted by many. I'll avoid using it if I can simply because I've heard various horror stories.

Worldpay is the more 'Grown Up' Version

Its alot harder to get, requires alot more paperwork and authenticity checks, and looks alot more Pro

Paypal on the other hand is the opposite.

Easy to get, and as such less well respected and trusted.

Worldpay do regular checks, to make sure you keep to their T&C's, and now just 'put on a show' when you first sign up.

Take a look at SecPay Similar to WorldPay, but cheaper.

I think paypal is great. I have never had a problem with it and have used it for years.

Yahoo have a funds transfer system, also. See http://uk.paydirect.yahoo.com/.

I have no experience of any of these services, but I'd be inclined to stay clear of PayPal. They behave like a bank without obeying any of the relevant legislation.

We use Protx (www.protx.com) No problems so far. Low flat rate fee for small volume of transactions, %-based for higher numbers (>1000 per quarter)
