I'm sorry but with this and the Bristol murder thing, I think the senior staff at The Soovy need to look at her state of mental wellbeing.
Salute?!?!? Bow?!?!?! She is either taking the piss, mental or on some serious medication. Or possibly all three.
Horrible, horrible person.

On this one I think she's not too far off tbh.
You spend £70 in these places most weeks and whilst I accept that if you're on minimum wage working in a petrol station, job satisfaction probably isn't too high up your list, it does get a bit tedious listening to "Do you have a loyalty card, can I interest you in any of our breakfast bars, please enter your PIN number, please remove your card, would you like a VAT receipt?".
If I had a loyalty card I'd give it to you, if I wanted a breakfast bar I'd pick one up (that wasn't close to its sell by date hence you want rid), I know how a chip and pin machine works, and if I wanted a VAT receipt I'd ask for one.
I believe in America you still get, admittedly not sure of the frequency, attendants who will fill your car for you, check your oil, clean your lights and so on.
Do I want that personally, probably not, but is it a bad idea, not so sure.

I think New Jersey still has them by law. Generally gas station attendants are as surly there as they are here though. Do I want that personally, probably not, but is it a bad idea, not so sure.

she isnt b
huing about that. SHe is complaining about very poor service and that the oil companies do not give a s
t about it even though they make huge profits. Not sure how garages work though, are they franchises/privately owned or owned and run by the oil companies? if its the former she is off the mark anyway.
ps anybody else think that card would have returned? or would they bee ordering huge flat screen tvs after a few days

Just one of myriad points the self-indulgent ig' has missed both in the article and in life generally in life it seems.

The opposite is my problem, I want a receipt why should I always have to ask for one.Ed Fender said:
It's Liz Jones. She's got lots and lots of previous.
Type "Liz Jones is a" into Google and see what it suggests.
I would agree that most petrol stations could do with improving their service more than a little but its her supercilious attitude that does my head in. Bow???? I mean for fType "Liz Jones is a" into Google and see what it suggests.
ks does she think she's f
king royalty? Maybe she wants to go back to a glorious time when AA men used to salute as they rode past on their Veclolettes with a peep of the horn. Where poor people weren't allowed to have cars by law and clutter up the roads for the better class of motorist and the only time you saw the lower classes was when they filled your car, wiped your screen and called you Marm as you drove off from their forecourt with a cheery wave. Where the only drinks they sold at fillings stations were Ginger beer and fizzy pop, where they closed on a Sunday and the only driving anyone did that day was to church, where it was always sunny & there were bluebirds over the White Cliffs of Dover.
I'm sorry, I think she's mental.

It is just a general public thing imho, I work on the other side of the counter You spend £70 in these places most weeks and whilst I accept that if you're on minimum wage working in a petrol station, job satisfaction probably isn't too high up your list, it does get a bit tedious listening to "Do you have a loyalty card, can I interest you in any of our breakfast bars, please enter your PIN number, please remove your card, would you like a VAT receipt?".

, prompting customers with the PIN pad if I don't they tend to stare at it and don't do anything even with the machine beeping at them. The loyalty cards a lot of people forget they have them, asking for a VAT receipt I don't think they should ask every customer I only bother to ask when it is a large diesel fill. Staff turnover is high which doesn't help with customer service there is only so much of customers going a penny over then receiving the usual "you thieving robbing
s" that a cashier can take. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
