Dealer Limited Edition Cars
Discussion
Just a rant on how stupid some people are that they chose to part £14k of their or parents money for a gutless brand new chavvy car. For an example....the new Ford Fiesta 'GTR'?!

Or hows about a corsa?

I understand your paying the extra price for the exclusivity, and the dealers are targeting the younger generation. Joy. Spend a couple grand more and you could get either a VXR or ST for f
k sake.
That is all.

You got to also remember that there are those out there who'd rather have a brand new car which gets them from A to B, which (In there heads) looks good. Not everyone cars about performance first. Also insurance is a pain in the ass for many younger drivers. I'd much rather them spending their money on these 1.2's ect and biding their time, learning to drive, with proper insurance than them spending monies on a car which they cant even to insure properly!
They did a Ford Escort "Anglia" edition - a pathetic dealer special mk4 which was sold by East anglian dealers and so far as I could see was a Ford Escort 1.4 LX with a s
tty body stripe, some tasty "Anglia" badges ad not much else
It was so poor I can't even find a pic of one - but i did see one the other day in Norwich!

Its the point that Iv checked insurance companies and not one has a GTR or limited edition in the category....so does that mean theyl just have to list the mods? Hmmm....there a lad on the fiesta forums that has a GTR. It was either £4k for insurance or fronting being named driver on his mummys policy....It's just stupid.
Insurance prices have gone stupidly high so even though someone can afford a Focus ST, they can't get insured on it.
I've been insured on my car for the last 12 months just fine and I enquired on my renewal today. They said I was too young to drive my own car and won't insure me. FFS! So been shopping around and the quotes I'm getting back are almost 50% more than last year. So just because you have the capital to buy a powerful car isn't enough if people won't insure you to drive the damn thing.

Fiesta GTR - complete and utter misnomer, a Fiesta that is a Grand Tourer Racer (or Gran Turismo Racer, whichever). I suppose at least Baz in his 'fezzie' can tell all his mouth-breathing mates that 'itz the same as de nissan gtr innit bruv'. At least if it was a souped up version of the ST it would at least be an attempt to nod to the GTR moniker but 1.2 engines, Ford and Vauxhall should be sued!
