Superman Re-Reboot

I think i'm the only person in the world who liked Superman Returns with Brandon Routh as the man himself.

But now they're re-rebooting it, using some chap best known for not getting roles.

It made me wonder, why do they not use Tom Welling? Smallville is about to finish, so there wouldn't be an issue with timelines and people getting confused.

Plus i think that throughout the 10 (yes, 10) series of Smallville Welling has really grown into the character properly.

Brandon Routh was fine as Superman, but the rest of Superman Returns was a bit of a mess IMO

One of the best bits about Superman has always been the relationship between Lois and Clark, which was almost completely discarded.

The 'evil scheme' was ludicrous as well.

but the whole superman has a kid?! and the build an island next to manhattan was stupid too.

casting wise i couldnt fault returns. it was the story that let it down.

oh well lets see how the new son of Jor-el does.

True - Bosworth was weak. But the rest of the casting was great - especially Kevin Spacey as Luthor.

Will be interesting to see if they continue the 'son' story line in the next one.

What's the point of rebooting it so soon, trying to catch the creativity of The Dark Knight and the Incredible Hulk? It's so weak, chose another character!
