I am thinking about gettng a PDA as work now involves a couple of sites and meetings. I need something that is not too powerful as I will just need to store simple word and excell documents and have a very good to do and scheduling features. Also a keyboard input would be nice. e-mail would be good but not essential, so i presume this can be done by hooking up to the mobile.
Any ideas chaps as time is one thing I don't have to trawl through all the PDA's out there and then where to get one at the cheepest price.

personally I use an Ipaq 5550. It works with WiFi, and also with GPRS via Bluetooth to a Nokia 6310i..... it does email, word etc etc. It's not the cheapest of the ipaq range, but there are other, cheaper units.... but obviously the features vary.

I can recommend eXpansys when you find the one you want. good prices, good delivery, good packing....

I've been more than happy with my Palm Tungsten T2. It would certainly do all you have asked for, though it's getting a bit long in the tooth now.

It syncs with all the office programs well and I have found a few additional features - such as the ability to carry and read pdfs - particulary useful. I find the HotSync method of updating the info on it (pressing a button to do it rather than it happening automatically when you connect the device) a much better way to carry out the process too.

It's pretty small and light...erm... I quite like the colour!

I use an Ipaq 4150. It also works with WiFi and GPRS via Bluetooth to a Nokia 6310i. It even connects to my WiFi network at home. This has been written on it whilst watching GMTV. It connects to my email via Outlook, Word, Excel etc.Get a GPS mouse and Tom Tom software and you also have SatNav.

I can also recommend eXpansys when you find the one you want. good prices, good delivery, good packing.

I have an iPAQ 2210 and still think it is the best currently. Can be had for less than £250 online these days.

Compared with the 5550 it loses 64MB and WiFi, but gains a Compactflash slot, which I think makes it more versatile. It's a lot smaller and lighter too.

Runs the fastest 400MHz Xscale. Mine will happily run overclocked to 664MHz (handy for Morphgear SNES emulator etc.)
