So she managed to get a 2.1 at Oxford, so knew how to do exams, etc...

But was not cut out at the Oxford Institute of Legal Practice to pass the exams in 2005... so 6 years later in 2011 she decides to sue them for £100k

Why do you ask... because those failures in 2005 meant that 3 years later, she went and failed her New York bar examinations in 2008... All down to the traumatic experiences in 2005... its just taken another 3 years until 2011 to realise it.

I so hope she loses and is out of pocket by 5 figures and then even more when the OXILP decide to counter and claim damages...

Maybe I could sue the Rasta at Mandella Court. I'm sure he's responsible for me being too lethargic to revise properly biggrin

I did an open book LPC. I would have actually preferred it to be closed book to be honest as I might have actually done some work for it!

mergers and acquisitions - christ I couldnt tell you anything about it, before, or after the exam - totally flying by the seat of my pant in most of the exams..

Hmmm; the statute of limitations on Negligence actions is..6years = 2011-05...yup, trying desperately to slip under the wire.

I'd be amazed if this goes anywhere.

It would take a special person to fail the LPC.

Awesome. I'm going to sue my school, my college, my parents and anyone else I can think of.

I should have been a millionaire by now and it's all somebody else's fault that I'm not. So there.

Hahaha, she's essentially going to sue a bunch of Lawyers who have already proven to be better than her, seeing as they've passed the exam she failed?

Why doesn't she just run into traffic?

Why is she going to sue everyone if they say she's a bit of a thicko and a munter to boot.

No, I don't think they can. It would then set a precedent for all people who fail their exams to sue.

And I believe the article said that counsel had already made submissions in the High Court, which means it has got to trial so they are defending it.

The bottom line however is that I can't see her working in law ever again (notwithstanding the fact that she's a paralegal!).

I would be amazed if they didnt offer/have offered her a few quid on a part 36 basis just to go away.

It's going to cost the silly cow a good few grand to have gone to a solicitor, who will have in turn gone to counsel etc etc. So after a bit of disclosure, a few shots across each other's bows and an application for security for costs (which might be what counsel is making submissions on) she might not think it's such a good idea to run this to the wire and she might be delighted to net 7 or 8 grand.

A quick google suggests that she has in fact qualified elsewhere and litigates in aviation law - but that might not be her.
