Just been announced that Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie are having their show moved from Radio 2 to Radio 6 Music and replacing Nemones show. Nemone moving to weekends.

Can 6 Music get any better as a radio station for music lovers? Great news, I like Nemone but MR and SM have an excellent show.

For all her good points, Nemone is probably the weakest of the weekday presenters on 6.

This is a great announcement.

The only other things we need now are:

1. Get Adam and Joe back on regularly.
2. Increase the gap between A and B list plays a bit more to stop it sounding like Radio 1 (We really don't need to hear 'Everything Everything' and 'Two Door Cinema Club' every hour thank you).
3. Leave it alone so we can enjoy what is now the best music station there's been for a very long while.

ETA - Just realised Jo Whiley is now on 6, so No.3 above should be changed to "Send Jo Whiley back to the wilderness and then leave it alone...)

(Cue Mr E Driver posting that jingles, idents, sweepers and bumpers should all be banned!)

Yes, they could get rid of the presenters all together. Any station that did that I'd listen to, the only presenter I will bother listening to is Lamarr simply because he knows what he's talking about & has a love for the music he plays, but he's not a run of the mill presenter. The everyday "entertainers" are just an annoyance & should be scrapped, all of them.

It's a shame that Huey will no longer be covering Lauren after 25th Feb.

He has been excellent and introduced me to some pretty good music that I would never have bothered with before.

So would this be a promotion for R&M or a sideways move?
For me ,it gives me something to listen to at work that i like, but not in the car.No DAB.

Like Steve Lamaq, Tom Robinson, Craig Charles, Huey Morgan, Marc Riley, Jarvis Cocker, Gideon Coe and Cery's Matthews? All on 6 Music, all who love music, all who knowtheir musical area inside out.

If anything the only problem with some of these is that they know too much, and disapear up the artistic musical arse.

My only beef with 6 Music is that they hold a candle for Tom Waits...who is utter ste.

Sort of a promotion based on listener numbers; the potential audience is bound to be much larger in the afternoon, even if 6 Music has a smaller share. It's probably quite a canny move by the BBC; I should think a fair few listeners will get DAB in-car to listen.

Yes - by having Mark and Stuart on in the evening. I'm furious. Now I'll have to work out a way of listening in the kitchen each night. Even then it wont be as good as "live". mad

Can't they shove Chris Evans onto 6 to give my ears a rest in the morning...

He has been doing an excellent job - especially for a guy that confesses hes not a morning person!

Looking forward to the new changes in March with todays news. Half an hour of Namone is all I can usually stand.

It'll be a shame when Huey goes, don't think I'll be able to go back to listening to Lauren Laverne.

It's great when Huey gets all excited about something and loses control of his potty mouth laugh

Thankfully, 6 is one of the very few stations left where the presenters don't have to apologise profusely whenever a playground swear word slips out.

Mark and Lard back on the same network. Can anyone else see where this might be heading?
