Williams-BMW 2005 driver line up?
Discussion
So Antonio Pizzonia thinks he's in line for one of the drives at Williams next year (if Ralf leaves) http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/3663469.stm
Who do you think will get the 2 seats at Williams next year (if both current drivers leave).
For me I'd say Marc Gene & David Coulthard will get the drives. Due to Williams test driver promotion history and that they would probably have Coulthard back (and none of the drivers they'd really want would be available).
PS Who think's McLaren are thinking about a new engine supplier too?

Merc also fronted up a big wedge for Pantheon or whatever the building is called.
Could feasibly switch marques to other GM brands but Mercedes don't acutally make the F1 engines anyway so whether it had a Vaxhaull, Subaru or Mercedes badge on it, it would still be the same thing.
Gene should get the Williams drive IMO.

Mercedes is part of DaimlerChrysler not GM and seeing as neither Chrysler, Mitsubishi or Hyundai really seem to have any interest in F1 then I think if they change it will be to a different OEM.
Having said that I can't see Merc pulling out of F1. Not with the monster press that the link with their überpower road engines is creating - or would create if their race engines could actually finish an event :-(

The new building is called MTC or McLaren Technology Centre. It was called Paragon until they realised a local company had the same name (I forget what that company did).
If you want a challenge, go on the McLaren website and try and find the name Paragon - if there's one thing McLaren have on their side, it's their professionalism.

Frank Williams has always liked Pizzonia, but I can't see him in a race seat next year - he blew it in a Jag, but was always quick in testing - can't see what may have changed this year.
As for Gene - Again, I don't think that Frank and Patrick see him as a racer.
Dixon has a chance, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Webber there either - contracts permitting.
It may be worth a few quid on a total outsider (like Jenson Button a few years back). Division one of motorsport is fairly well packed at the moment, and Frank has taken a gamble before....
As always - IMVHO .

Dixon and the son of a former Formula One World Champion...
At least, that's what I think. That's why they're not bothered about Ralf idle threats to go to Toyota for more money. (Which is why he backpeddled when his remarks didn't get a rise from Head or Williams in the media).
Pizzonia is a damn good driver, very quick and should be given a top line chance to shine, but whether he'll get the chance is debateable.

My mistake.
Same sentiment though!
DC has no chance, well past his sell buy date. Rosberg jnr (doing very well in Euro F3) or Piquet jnr could get a drive, I doubt Scott Dixon will, anyone can look good in IRL and BMW don't sell too many cars in NZ. Also, I must be the only person on earth who thinks Webber is massively over-rated, he's way too inconsistent.
Oh good god....................no!

Would he have the motivation?

JV back in F1? No way! especially not at Williams, Patrick Head is not a fan, reckons he hade 'very hard work' of winning in '97 in a vastly superior car. If he does come back he'll just show how very average he is. Look how BAR have moved ahead without him, he is not a team player, not a good tester, just a money grabber.

Thats my pick
Jenson?
I reckon he's going to stay with BAR for the rest of his career! They're in form to nearly win races, so why change?
You said it, NEARLY win. BAR will never beat Ferrari if in a straight head-to-head. Honda have given them a stunning engine this season, and the aero package that BAR have come up with is up there with the best. The package they have ATM is better than Williams AND McLaren. But it isn't good enough to beat ferrari. The Ferrari Team are too good, BAR don't have the 'front-running' experience to be able to strategically take them on.
Hopefully I'll be eating my words at the end of the season but ATM BAR will remain second best, Jenson will WANT to move upward!

If you take luck out the equation, Ferrari are unbeatable.
