Hello,

I am currently a student at a graphic design school and I just started a small web/print design company(just me).
I have a few clients but now I am looking forward to get some others. I am not the best man in getting jobs, so I am looking for some advices.
How is it handled to get into these freelancer jobs sometimes offered by the advertising companys?
Should I stick to those freelancer pages in the internet or should I write tons of emails to all the companys around?
I am from germany but I think the way it is handled maybe similar.

So thanks in advance.

As your English is far better than my German, I shall avoid pointing out the gramatical errors in your post (although if you intend selling to UK companies, it may be an issue!)

We like to see freelancers. We get so many e-mail that we never really get time to really read them.

Make a list of companies 1 hour from where you live. Get some cards printed and a CD showing some of your work, and drop them into the companies.

If you get to see the Creative Director then great but don't push it.

But don't just leave it at that. Call them all at least once a month to see if anything's coming up and send them examples of recent work as you do it.

Good luck.
