Hey, bit of a long shot but just wondering if anyone out there can recommend a classic car insurance company that would give a decent price for the following ...

Car: Ford Capri S 2.0 1984
Driver: Under 25
Mileage: 6000 max
Cover: Full comp'

I've tried a few places but most are ridiculous. I'm not expecting it to be cheap but would like to make sure I've covered all angles.

Thanks for any help!!

PM me your name, address including postcode, date of birth, occupation. If over 20 and if you have another car. No promises but can but try!

I am 26 and have the same problem now i want it insured in London instead of scotland. Also no garage..

Any ideas on that one. It seems only cheap when you have a garage.

It seems from the policy documents that most are garage only...

Sorry Tom, I wouldn't be using another car, the capri would become my main car as I only cover very short distances for work (less than 6000 a year). Would be drive way stored as well. Think its still worth a try?

Cheers

Have you tried the main insurance companies as well? Classics are often cheap on mainstream policies which don't have these restrictions, as well as on dedicated classic policies.

Footman James are very good.

Insured 2 classics with them in the past, and a track car.

I was 20 when i got my first qoute from them, they say they dont insure under 25s but insured me no probs.

I'm 21 and have a modified mk1 capri with 2ltr engine, uprated brakes/suspension all insured for £850 with Graham Sykes Insurance. Google them. In comparison, footman james/flux etc wanted at least £2200.

Thanks for all the help people! Tried the companies you've all mentioned, managed to get it for £1500 in the end, not too bad considering my age, car and previous accident. Policy covers quite a bit so not complaining .. that much!

Here's a pic anyway in case any one is interested ..
