De-Cat = MOT fail. Mapping does'nt count for st.

No it isnt.

Removing the cat is not an automatic MOT fail. So long as the car's emissions are lower than the test limits, it will pass, cat or not.

Mapping can help with passing the emissions - I used to have an MOT map for my old charade turbo wink

Fair enough, I've seen a few including my own back in 2000 fail due to decat.

I stand corrected Sir.

If the emissions were low enough to pass the test minus the cat, but you were failed for not having one, you got done and the MOT tester didnt know his arse from his elbow smile

Just clip jimmy the cat into the end of the exhaust for the MOT (I'd love to see this done!).

I thought that you didnt need a cat as long as emmissions were low enough, however even with a remap and without a cat emmissions could still be high but seems a few t4 owners are passing MOTs so looks like ill be going ahead.

Thanks
