I upgraded to Office 2003 today and I now can't open any documents such as word, excel.

Any suggestions? or should I just take it off and start again?

What happens when you try to open them.

Are you trying to open them via dbl clicking them?

did you upgrade to 2003, or just do a fresh 2003 install over 2000 etc.

try opening word / excel 2003 directly, via the start menu links, this might well repair the file-type links.

Enjoy.

When i try to open up a Word document it comes up with.........

The file " " is not avaliable.

When i try to open up an Excel document it comes up with........

The file cannot be opened because your virus scanner has detected a problem with the file

I did an update over the original (Office XP).

Can you open them by starting Word/Excel then doing File Open?

Hasn't MS Office 2003 changed the ownership of the documents?

I'm sure that I read somewhere that this was a new feature to make it more secure.

Installed over here, and it didn't do the ownership thing to me.
You could always try to make a new admin account and see if that works.......

That's the problem you've got. Try re-installing your virus scanner so it detects office properly.
